Following a runner-up performance last Saturday in Iowa, Craig Dollansky and the Big Game Treestands #7 team set out on a long East Coast swing beginning with a double-dip at Eldora Speedway in Ohio where the team recorded a top-five finish in their most recent event last September.

As night one of the Goodyear Outlaw Thunder got underway at the ‘Big E’, 33 cars signed in for competition.  In qualifying Dollansky was the final car to time in and stopped the clocks 14th quick around the high-banked half-mile.  Making the 16-car inversion meant the Aggressive Hydraulics Maxim would start on the pole for heat #2 where ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ charged into the lead and motored to the heat race win.  In the dash Dollansky started ninth and maintained position in the 6-lap event finishing 9th.

In the 30-lap A-Main the MobileStar #7 started inside of row five.  When the green flag dropped on the feature Dollansky fell back four spots before the first caution on lap 2.  As racing resumed the main event stayed ‘clean and green’ until just after the halfway point when the #7 ran fourteenth on a lap 16 red and then two positions better before another caution the following lap.

On the move on the ensuing restart, ‘The Crowd Pleaser’ moved up to eighth and then around Kerry Madsen but a caution before lap 20 was complete relegated the pass.  When another caution came three circuits later a wild series of events saw the leader, on two occasions, pull into the pit area with a problem under caution.  Now running fifth, the Elk River, Minnesota driver was poised for another top-five finish at Eldora; however, contact between the top two cars in turn 1 on the restart sent both cars flipping and collected three other competitors in the process, including Dollansky, who found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time and was forced to retire from the event with too much damage.

The Big Game Treestands #7 team returns to Eldora Speedway tonight for the conclusion of Goodyear Outlaw Thunder weekend.
